In this timely installment of the Untold Stories of Central Minnesota, Arts & Cultural Heritage Producer Jeff Carmack talks with Denny Smith, Executive Director of Civility in Politics, a local non-profit organization dedicated to doing exactly what their name implies. After years of being a teacher and coach, Smith founded the organization a few years back after witnessing the growing hostility within political discussions. Today, as these political discussions online and across the dinner table have become even more divisive, Civility in Politics has begun holding seminars all over the area for a variety of groups to teach people how to go beyond “Minnesota Nice” and get to actual solutions.
