The Untold Story of Sinclair Lewis’ It Can’t Happen Here Nationwide Premier 80 Years Ago and As Performed Today Around the Country and at St. Cloud State University

What does the past think about our 2016 election?  In this installment of the Untold Stories of Central Minnesota, Arts & Cultural Heritage Producer Jeff Carmack presents a discussion of Sinclair Lewis’ cautionary tale of political disaster It Can’t Happen Here. In 1936, it was premiered on stages around the country just two weeks before the Presidential election, and 80 years later through the work of the Berkeley Repertory Theater, it was again put before audiences nationwide, including St. Cloud State University, and received an equally powerful reception.
