The Untold Story of St. Cloud State University’s Husky Sports Band with Director Glen Tuomaala, a 100 Year Old Student Tradition

The Husky Sports Band at SCSU has had a long and strange tradition throughout the years. From having the fight song banned to having issues with streakers to having world famous musicians sit in with them, this student institution has been in existence off and on since before SCSU was officially a school, but now the Husky Sports Band is celebrating its 10 year anniversary of its current incarnation. In today’s edition of the Untold Stories of Central Minnesota, Arts & Cultural Heritage Producer Jeff Carmack talks with the director of the band, Glen Tuomaala, about this history and his upcoming lecture at the Stearns History Museum’s November Breakfast Club.

This program is funded in part by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Legacy Grant.
