The Untold Story of Tuba Christmas, a St. Cloud 40 Plus Year Old Tradition

In this holiday installment of the Untold Stories of Central Minnesota, Arts & Cultural Heritage Producer Jeff Carmack finds himself surrounded by Low Brass at the Pioneer Place Theater for Tuba Christmas. The national tradition of Tuba Christmas goes back to 1974 in New York City and this year, as conducted by SCSU College of Liberal Arts Dean Mark Springer, marks St. Cloud’s 15th year of participating alongside of 303 other cities around the country, all celebrating Christmas in the Oom-Pah-Pah style!

This program is funded in part by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Legacy Grant.
