After a shooting in North St. Cloud Wednesday morning police are looking for more information about the cause of the events.

St. Cloud Police say they went to investigate reports of gunshots on 15th St. N. just before 2 a.m.

A responding officer learned the victim had gone to the St. Cloud Hospital with a gunshot wound in his torso. The victim refused to give the police more information so officers went back to the scene and spoke to witnesses.

At 2:30 a.m. officers say they found a car witnesses described fleeing from the area.

Police arrested 28-year-old Timothy Rootes and 25-year-old David Nowlan on probation violations related to drug use.

The victim is in stable condition under police surveillance because he has an outstanding felony warrant.
