Police officer saves two dogs inside a burning house

SARTELL, Minn. — A police officer saved two dogs from a house fire on Thursday, Dec. 14.

According to Sartell Public Safety, around 3 p.m., there were reports of a structure fire at a house on 27th Street on the North side of Sartell.

The reports said no one was inside the house, but there were two dogs inside. A responding police officer was able to get inside the home and get the dogs to safety.

Firefighters on scene were able to quickly contain the fire to the 2nd floor of the house.

There was significant damage to the home, but thanks to the quick thinking of a passerby who called and reported seeing smoke, firefighters were able to keep the house mostly intact.

No injuries occurred from the fire, which remains under investigation.
