Archived: Pop Singer Bobby Vee Died Monday At Age 73

Teen Idol Bobby Vee has died at the age of 73.

The late pop singer was born in Fargo, North Dakota, on April 30, 1943 as Robert Thomas Velline. Vee’s website says his musical career got underway by the time he was fifteen.

Vee’s music topped the Billboard chart many times in the 1960s. Some of his hits include: “Take Good Care of My Baby,” which hit No. 1 on the Hot 100 chart in Sept. 1961, “Run to Him” was at No. 2 in Dec. 1961, and “The Night Has A Thousand Eyes” hit No. 3 a couple years later in Feb. 1963.

He died Monday of advanced Alzheimer’s disease.
