Archived: Rice Man Ejected From Motorcycle Collides With Deer In Rice

A motorcyclist was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital with injuries after colliding with a deer Monday evening in Rice.

Benton County Sheriff Chief Deputy Troy Heck says 20-year-old Brandon Ringwelski from Rice was traveling on Little Rock Road Northeast just east of Highway 10.

Heck says a deer ran onto the road from the ditch just before 7:30 p.m. Monday and Ringwelski was unable to avoid it, striking the deer with his motorcycle. He kept riding for 100 feet before losing control of his motorcycle in a ditch.

Heck says Ringwelski was ejected from his motorcycle.

Authorities say Ringwelski was wearing a helmet and riding gear but still suffered serious injuries during the accident and was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital.

The St. Cloud Hospital says Ringwelski was treated and released Tuesday afternoon.
