A 74-year-old woman died in a single car accident in Royalton Tuesday afternoon.

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to a crash in the 6000 block of Canary Road northwest at 4:35 p.m. Their investigation shows Patricia Palmer had left the roadway and hit a tree. When deputies arrived Palmer was unresponsive and their revival efforts were not successful. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the incident is under investigation.
