Travelers are asked to drive with extra caution on township and County roads in the areas of St. Stephen and the Rice Bridge due to the Apple Duathlon bike race taking place Saturday Morning.

Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner says because of the bike race and the County Road 4 detour, there may be increased traffic in the area. Sanner also says Stearns County deputies and squads will be at several locations along the bike course to increase a safe environment for participants. Bikers may be encountered in groups or as single riders.

The race is expected to start around 8:45 a.m. and should take two to three hours.

The locations will be:

-Pine Cone Road and 40th Street
-75th Avenue and County Road 5 in St. Stephen
-County Road 5 and County Road 2 in St. Stephen
-County Road 2 and County Road 1 south of the Rice bridge.
