One generous donation from a local bank hopes to inspire other organizations and individuals to help make Sartell’s Community Center dream a reality.

The city council announced Wednesday it received a $50,000 donation from Liberty Bank-Minnesota to help improve the town’s community center.

Mark Bragelman, the bank president, congratulated the council on their community-centered project and looks forward to continuing the company’s work with the city.

The center will include three varsity size courts for basketball, volleyball, and pickleball. The courts will also be able to accommodate indoor sporting practices, potential trade shows, and expos, concerts and more. Upstairs, there will be a multi-lane walking track. Other feature include: a senior center, multipurpose room, concession area, indoor play structure for smaller children, and a learning and innovation space.

It’s expected to open in the summer of 2017.
