A 30-year-old Sartell man was killed in a fatal car accident early Thursday morning.

Sheriff John Sanner says that deputies were called to County Road 35 at the intersection with County Road 37, 3 miles north of St. Rosa for a reported car accident. The sheriff’s report says 2002 Dodge Stratus traveling south bound on County Road 35 struck a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier that was traveling west bound on County Road 37.

Sanner notes that both vehicles were severely damaged and both drivers were taken to Melrose Hospital. The driver of the Cavalier was pronounced dead shortly after, and has been identified yet.

The other driver, who is a 42-year-old man from Long Prairie, is still recovering at Melrose Hospital. The crash is being investigated by Stearns County Sheriff’s Office.
