Archived: Sartell Mayor Joe Perske Offically Files For Minnesota 6th District Representative

A new candidate has officially filed for Michelle Bachman’s seat in the U.S. House of Representatives for the 6th District of Minnesota.

Sartell Mayor Joe Perske will be seeking the Democratic Party’s nomination for the 6th District congressional seat. The mayor was endorsed by the delegates to the DFL District Convention in Monticello on May 3.

According to the Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State, Perske joins former State Representative and Republican Tom Emmer as the only other candidate that has officially filed for the seat.

Other candidates that have declared for the Democratic nomination but have not officially filed are Circle Pines native and environmental activist Judy Adams, and College of St. Benedicts and St. John’s University Professor Jim Read.

Republicans that have declared candidacy but have not filed include former State Representative Phil Krinkie, Georgia resident Allen Levene and current Anoka County Commissioner Rhonda Sivarajah.
