The St. Cloud Police Department has recently received a number of complaints of mail being stolen from residential mailboxes.

 

St. Cloud Police Sergeant Jason Burke says that based on the time of the year, it would seem that the mail being targeted is W2 forms, with the intent to file fraudulent tax returns and gain someone else’s refund money.

 

The SCPD warns that people should get their mail from mailboxes on a daily basis and speak to an employer about receiving W2 forms in a way other than US mail.
