Archived: SCSU Hosts Regional History Day Saturday

St. Cloud State University is hosting the Minnesota Historical Society’s Regional History Competition this Saturday.

There are more than 300 participating students in grades 6-12 who have made projects. All of their projects follow the 2017 theme “Taking a Stand in History,” and have gone on to create projects that range from Sister Kenny’s treatment of polio to Muhammad Ali’s opposition to the Vietnam War.

The competition starts at 9 a.m. in St. Cloud State’s Atwood Memorial Center. The award ceremony will be at 1 p.m. Regional winners will advance to State History Day in April and have a chance to go to National History Day in June.

National History Day is operated by the Minnesota Historical Society in partnership with the University of Minnesota’s College of Liberal Arts program.
