Archived: SCSU Students to Premiere their First Movie

A couple of St. Cloud State students are counting down the hours to their first movie premiere. Over the last 16 months, Bruce Meyers and Gordon Severson have been putting together “It Doesn’t Define Us,” a documentary film about lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights and issues. The film will premiere at the Uptown Theater in Minneapolis Saturday at noon.

The documentary is set, filmed, and produced in Minnesota, and showcases the different aspects of gay life and community. Severson tells KVSC, neither of the directors knew much the gay community before creating this film.

The premiere of “It Doesn’t Define Us” will take place Saturday (today) at noon, in the Uptown Theatre. The second showing will be next Saturday, November 14th, at the Pioneer Place in St. Cloud. Tickets for both shows are $8 dollars. To view the trailer and for more information about the film, visit www.itdoesntdefineusfilm.com
