St. Cloud State University Foundation has received a 219,000-dollar donation from Mary Beth Wedum.

SCSU has received more than 880,000 from Mary Beth Wedum and J.A. Wedum Foundation’s monetary. Wedum has been a single parent student at SCSU during the 1960s, she has decided to take burden off students shoulder by supporting them financially.

President of the J.A. Wedum Foundation Jay Portz says the family of Mary Beth and the J.A Wedum Foundation are proud to make this donation to SCSU.

Her donation has led to the establishment of Coborn Plaza, a formal welcome center and higher-amenity student housing. The donation has also created a scholarship for single mothers helping them to go back to school. The scholarship provides up to 2000 dollars to twenty mothers.
