Archived: SCSU’s Bob Weisman Recorded Data From Monday Night’s Heavy Rainfall

Heavy rains doused Central Minnesota Monday night from Milaca eastward to St. Cloud and Little Falls.

St. Cloud State University Meteorology Professor Bob Weisman says more than 4 inches fell in a short time period in Milaca and at the St. Cloud Regional Airport. A total of 4.03 inches was recorded at the airport between 9-11 p.m.

There are no flood advisories at the time, but Weisman reminds people that the ground is still wet from the past 2 months of rain. The amount of water we received could have some flooding effect on local or county roads and areas near small streams.

Drivers are warned not to drive through standing or moving water on the roads.

Weisman documented Monday night’s rain as the third heaviest August rainfall in St. Cloud.
