Archived: Soup And Music Can Be Enjoyed At Empty Bowls This Weekend

Proceeds made at an Empty Bowls soup feed this weekend will benefit Place of Hope Ministries.

Empty Bowls says these international events are designed to create awareness of hunger around the world. It’s a project of a 501(c)(3) non-profit.

Folks who attend this weekend will receive a handmade bowl to keep. Place of Hope says it’s a reminder that someone’s bowl is always empty.

The bowl can be used at three soup stations while enjoying bluegrass, gospel, piano and violin music. Craft vendors will also be set up, which is new this year.

Money raised at the Empty Bowls will help Place of Hope and Anne’s Meals Fund. Place of Hope is an outreach organization serving people affected by homelessness, poverty, drug and alcohol addiction, and other hardships. Anne’s Meal Funds provides more than 7,200 meals a month to people in need.

Empty Bowls takes place Saturday from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. at Calvary Community Church, located at 1200 Roosevelt Rd. in St. Cloud.

Tickets are $10 for an individual and $30 for families with 2 adults and children. Kids under 5 eat free. The cost is $2 more at the door. Tickets are available at Place of Hope, located at 511 9th Ave. N. in St. Cloud. You can also purchase them at Calvary.
