St. Cloud community members are protesting a right wing extremist’s lecture Saturday at the Stearns County Courthouse.

East Central Area Labor Council, Jane Conrad, says an out-of-town anti-refugee extremist, Bob Enos, delivered a lecture about how Somali refugees are bringing Sharia law into the area. Conrad adds the public was told there would be no lecture, but Enos was a last minute replacement for Ron Branstner. Branstner is a member of the vigilante group known as the California Minuteman Project who regularly visits Greater Minnesota to motivate anti-refugee and anti-immigrant sentiment.

The lecture was presented at one of the rooms in the Veterans Foreign Wars building in St. Cloud, but Conrad says it is unfortunate that Bob Enos has dragged the VFW into this controversy.

The protest is planned to take place at 1 p.m. in front of Stearns County Courthouse.
