Since 1948 the third Thursday of October has been recognized as International Credit Union Day. Throughout the United States many credit unions host open houses, parades and community events to celebrate the work of credit unions.

The St. Cloud Federal Credit Union is celebrating the holiday by hosting a conference to discuss economy related issues, credit unions roles in financial literacy and personal financial security.

Sixth District Congressman Tom Emmer, CEO of St. Cloud Federal Credit Union Jed Mayer and Mark Cummins, the President of Minnesota Credit Union Network, are all expected to speak at the event.

The conference begins Thursday, October 15 at 3 p.m. at St. Cloud Federal Credit Union.
