A 34-year-old St. Cloud man was arrested Thursday after a reported stolen vehicle was found near hunting land northeast of Rice.

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office says deputies received a call just after 11 a.m. about a suspicious car parked in a wooded area in section four of Langola Township. The caller was checking some hunting land when he noticed the car and someone sitting inside. When deputies arrived, the caller walked with them through the woods to the car’s location.

Touy Souvannaphong was the only person in the car and told deputies he had been there for several days. The Sheriff’s Office confirmed the car was stolen from Sartell earlier this week after a registration check.

Souvannaphong was arrested and taken to the St. Cloud Hospital for a medical evaluation. He is now being held at Benton County Jail on charges of unauthorized use and possession of a stolen motor vehicle while he waits for a court appearance.
