A St. Cloud man is facing DUI charges after his car ended up upside down on a sidewalk late Thursday evening.

St. Cloud Police Sergeant Jason Burke says officers were called to the intersection of 9th Avenue South and 11th Street South in St. Cloud around 11:30 p.m. Thursday night after a report of a vehicle that had overturned.

Police say 19-year-old Mackenzy James Taylor was traveling southbound on 9th Avenue when he crossed into the northbound lane went over onto the sidewalk and eventually flipped his car. Officers believe Taylor had passed out behind the wheel before the accident.

Taylor received a few minor injuries but refused to seek medical attention.

Taylor was taken to the Stearns County Jail where he is facing 4th degree DUI charges.
