A St. Cloud man died after being hit by two vehicles on St. Cloud’s southeast side Wednesday night.

The Minnesota State Patrol says 56-year-old James Olsen was crossing through the intersection against the light at westbound Highway 23 and 14th Avenue Southeast at 8:40 p.m. Fifty-one year old Mary Larcom of Sartell was driving west on Highway 23 when she hit Olsen while going through the intersection on a green light. Another car, driven by 27-year-old Jason Rau, also heading west struck the victim in the process of his changing lanes. Rau fled the scene, but was arrested later. Olsen died in the accident.

The St. Cloud Police Department, Stearns County Sheriff’s Office and the Benton County Sheriff’s Office assisted the state patrol at the scene.
