St. Cloud Police officers responded to a hit and run accident in the north side of the city Monday afternoon.

St. Cloud Police Sergeant Jason Burke says officers received a report of an accident at 2nd Street North and 15th Avenue North. Forty-year-old Abdulqader Gelani Ishaq from St. Cloud was heading eastbound when another vehicle ran a stop sign, hit his car and fled the scene.

After investigating the accident, officers sent the case to the attorney’s office in the city. Forty-seven-year Lee O’Neal is facing charges of gross misdemeanor, driving after revocation, careless driving and no proof of insurance.

Ishaq’s passenger, 32-year-old Ibrahim Ahmed Dhuhul, was taken to the ER for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported.
