A St. Cloud Metro Bus driver has been named as the Minnesota Bus Operator of the Year.

Jerry Gillman has worked as a Dial-a-Ride driver for St. Cloud Metro Bus since 1999 and has also served as a driver instructor and teamsters local 638 union steward representing Dial-a-Ride bus operators and dispatchers. The award recognizes drivers who have demonstrated high achievement in areas such as attendance, customer service and leadership.

Gillman was given the honor by the Minnesota Public Transit Association at their annual conference in St. Paul.

He is only the second St. Cloud driver to receive the award.
