St. Cloud police have released the identity of a man who was found dead in Whitney Park.

St. Cloud Police Sergeant Jason Burke says 30-year-old Matt David Persons of St. Cloud was found in a wooded area on the north side of Whitney Park Sunday night.

Persons’ fingerprints were on file with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and were used to make the positive identification.

Persons’ death is currently under investigation as police wait for the final report from the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office.
