Archived: St. Cloud Police Officers Respond To Four Burglary Complaints Last Friday
St. Cloud Police Sergeant Jason Burke says officers responded to four reports of burglary in the early hours of Friday morning.
Officers first responded to an alleged burglary in the 200 block of 32nd Avenue North at 3:05 a.m. Burglars apparently entered through an open door, while people were home, and stole property. The stolen items were later recovered by officers.
Shortly after, at 3:23 a.m. another call came from the 2400 block of 3rd Street North. Burke reports that the caller yelled when they saw two black men removing a screen from a window. The suspects, one wearing a white tank top, ran off. No other information has been reported about the suspects.
An additional complaint also led officers to the 200 block of 27th Avenue North. There were no signs of forced entry and nothing was taken.
The last burglary complaint was at 5:47 a.m. at the 200 block of 24th Avenue North. Burke adds that suspects came in through an open door. Stolen property was found by officers two blocks from the scene.
It is still unknown if the burglaries are related.
The police department reminds the public to lock doors to their homes, shut garage doors, and keep a light on inside and outside homes.
