The St. Cloud Police Department has issued a warning of a phone scam that appears to be targeting foreign students at St. Cloud State University.

 

Sergeant Jason Burke says the department’s front desk received several calls from citizens saying someone had called them from the phone number 320-251-1200.

 

The calls varied from no conversation at all to one individual claiming to be the IRS and if the person did not pay money they would be expelled from school and arrested.

 

The police department advises that if you receive a call from 320-251-1200, that call is most likely a hoax.
