St. Cloud State University is hosting a series of events about Veteran’s Voices Month to connect veterans with students and the community.

Interim Director of Veteran Resource Center, Zac Mangas, says the events start with a panel discussion at 6 p.m. Monday and a documentary called Korengal shown in the Atwood Theater at 7:30 p.m. Participants will learn about soldiers’ experience in the Korengal Valley during the war in Afghanistan.

Veteran storytellers will share their experiences with students and the public in the Quarry from noon to 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 22nd.

A documentary called The Strange History of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell will be shown at the Miller Center Auditorium Monday, October 26th at 4 p.m. Students can also listen to a talk by Ken Scholes about his dismissal from military as a result of his sexuality.

The events complete by a Trunk-or-Treat at 5 p.m. Friday, October 30th, at the N parking lot next to Lindgren Childcare Center. Student veterans gather with Student Parent Organization to talk about their experience in the military.
