Archived: St. Cloud State University To Host Chinese Performers and Moon Festival Thursday

St. Cloud State University’s Confucius Institute is celebrating with two Chinese events on campus this week.

They are hosting the Capital Normal University Performing Arts Group on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. in Ritsche Auditorium. The event is free of charge and students, staff and the community are invited.

The Chinese Students and Scholars Association are also hosting the Chinese Moon Festival. It will be held Saturday night in Atwood Ballroom from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Admission is $5 for students and $8 for non-students.

In China, the moon festival is traditionally celebrated with a family reunion. People also observe the moon, make lanterns, and eat mooncakes, which are Chinese bakery items traditionally eaten during the mid-autumn festival.
