Archived: St. Cloud State University Water Main Break One Day Prior to Lemonade Art Fair

A contractor is cutting into the cement to gain access to the water valve break.
St. Cloud State University officials are dealing with a valve break on a water main that is leaking severely. Physical plant supervisor Ron VanHueveln is letting employees know the valve is broken in the mall area of the Atwood Memorial Center. An outside contracting firm is on site working on the problem.
Water is shut or will be shut off from 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Wednesday until the work is complete.
University officials are working as swiftly as possible as they prepare to welcome 10-12,000 visitors and more than 240 vendors for the 41st annual Lemonade Arts Fair Thursday. It’s the kick-off event for St. Cloud’s Granite City Days.
