Two dogs attacked a St. Joseph woman Monday afternoon when she was walking her dog in St. Joseph Township.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says 61-year-old Julie Lingl was walking her small dog on the shoulder of Frontage Road when she passed a house with multiple dogs in a fenced back yard. When Lingl and her dog passed, two boxers jumped over the fence and attacked the smaller dog, killing it. Deputies say the dogs turned on Lingl when she tried to pick up her dog.

She is currently in the St. Cloud Hospital recovering from multiple lacerations and puncture wounds on her legs, arms, hands, back and head.

The Sheriff’s Office says they have seized and quarantined the dogs and are investigating the case.
