Archived: State Patrol Says Becker Woman Caused Accident After Trying To Take Photo While Driving
A Becker woman was taken to the hospital after authorities says she hit another car while trying to take a picture in her vehicle while she was driving.
The Minnesota State Patrol says 47-year-old Monica Wesenberg of Becker ran a stop sign Sunday afternoon at the intersection of Highway 25 and 37th Street Southeast. Wesenberg had hit a turkey prior to that accident and admitted to the deputies that she was taking a picture of the damage to her vehicle while driving it.
She ran the stop sign and broadsided a car driven by 41-year-old Kristine Sylvester from Clearwater. She had minor injuries, but her teenage passengers were not injured.
Wesenberg was taken to the hospital for treatment on non-life threatening injuries.
