Archived: Stearns County Launches New Interactive Website Highlighting Budget Information
Stearns County launched a new interactive website, called OpenGov, which allows citizens to see how their tax dollars are spent.
OpenGov provides people with a visualization of government spending for upcoming, current, or past years.
Stearns County says the website allows visitors to view the information as a pie chart, bar graph, line graph, or as dollars and percentages. OpenGov is operated using navigation tabs that shows statistics from different departments, funds, and personnel expense types.
OpenGov is replacing annual budget books by bringing information right to citizen homes.
Stearns County invites the public to explore the new portal and give their feedback online. Commenting is available on the budget site.
