A new grant is available to the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office and the St. Cloud Police Department.

Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner reports both departments have been invited to apply for a Justice Assistance Grant in which they would share $32,386.

Stearns County Sheriff’s Office is planning on buying new drug detecting canine units and a drone that would be used in open area searches.

The St. Cloud Police Department is looking at buying a new all-terrain SUV that would be used in large gatherings and searches. Along with the SUV, they would like to use some funds for crime prevention materials.
