Archived: Stearns County Sheriff’s Office Will Use Funding From Sign Sales For Bullet-Proof Vests
Yard signs are being sold and displayed in support of local law enforcement.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says they were approached by SignMax, a local business, and offered the signs to sell for fundraising. The Sheriff’s Office accepted the offer.
The signs read “We Support Law Enforcement.” Banners and bumper stickers are also available.
Funds raised from sign sales will be used to purchase bullet-proof vests for uniformed non-licensed staff. About 80 people are employed at the office with jail, court security and transport duties. Normally these jobs don’t receive bullet-proof vests, and the Sheriff’s Office hopes to increase their level of safety with the fundraiser.
Merchandise can be purchased at 807 Courthouse Square in St. Cloud or at the final Summertime by George concerts.
