Archived: Stearns County Will Practice Severe Weather Responses
Fail to plan, plan to fail is a well-known phrase when it comes to dangerous weather. This week is Severe Weather Awareness Week in Minnesota.
The Minnesota Department of Public Safety wants all Minnesotans to be aware of severe weather and how to be prepared.
A state-wide tornado drill will be conducted to test the response to a tornado across all Minnesota regions. The drill will happen Thursday, April 20, at 1:45 p.m.
Stearns County will also be participating in a second tornado drill at 6:45 p.m. All people are encouraged to participate as if the tornado is real, but should remember it is a simulation for severe weather situations.
