A Howard Lake man has been arrested six days after a St. Cloud man was shot in the head in northeast St. Cloud.

The St. Cloud Police Department says officers arrested 19-year-old Julian Deuce Hill in Howard Lake at 11 a.m. on Monday.

On April 23, a caller reported hearing gunshots in an alleyway between Wilson Avenue and 5th Avenue Northeast. Authorities found a handgun and controlled substances at the scene of a possible physical altercation. Police found a man just a few blocks away from the scene with a gunshot wound in the head.

Hill is charged with second-degree assault and recklessly discharging a firearm in a public area. He is currently being held in Benton County Jail.

The victim remains in stable condition and hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
