The St. Cloud SWAT team resolved a standoff on the city’s north side Tuesday afternoon.

St. Cloud Police Department Sergeant Jason Burke says officers responded to a situation involving a suicidal person at 3 p.m. on 3rd Street North. Traffic was closed at 3rd Street North from Cooper Avenue North and 19th Avenue North for more than two hours.

Negotiators started to talk with the 53-year-old individual. The suspect finally cooperated and came out of his house. He was taken to the Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center. No crime was committed during the standoff.

Authorities reopened the road to the traffic 5:45 p.m.
