Archived: Teenager Faces Criminal Charges In Sherburne County After Car Accident That Killed Two In July

A 17-year-old girl is now facing criminal charges after a man and child died in an accident in Sherburne County July 21st.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the teenager was driving a pickup on eastbound Highway 10 when she ran a red light and collided with a car driven by 54-year-old Charles Maurer heading northbound on County Road 11 South East.

Maurer and his passenger, 10-year-old Cassy Maurer, were flown to North Memorial hospital where they died of fatal injuries.

The  Sherburne County Attorney’s Office is now reviewing the case for criminal charges.
