Tigers Volleyball Swept by Alexandria

by John Clement/Sports Reporter

ALEXANDRIA, Minn. – The St. Cloud Tech Tigers volleyball team traveled north on I-94 to Alexandria to take on the Cardinals in a girls volleyball match on Tuesday.

The night did not go the Tigers’ way, as Alexandria swept Tech in three straight sets, 25-13, 25-17 and 25-16.

Tech managed to tie the opening set at 1-1 and again at 2-2, but those would be the only times the Tigers were not trailing on the scoreboard for the remainder of the match.

Despite the loss, there were some individual highlights for Tech. Amber Kilanowski led the Tigers’ attack with 12 kills and added an ace. Violet Bestgen finished with five kills and an ace, Ragen Lieser recorded four kills, and Greta Anderson added two kills.

The Tigers will look to bounce back with two road matches next week. Tech travels to Becker on Monday, Oct. 5, before heading to Royalton on Tuesday, Oct. 6.
