Archived: Two California Residents Arrested Sunday In Waite Park
Two people from California were arrested in Waite Park Sunday after allegedly trying to sell a stolen and handgun.
Waite Park Police Chief David Bentrud says officers received calls about a man trying to sell a stolen handgun at 815 1st Street South around 12:30 p.m. Callers also added that the man’s friend was in possession of a stolen car.
Officers located the stolen car near of 6th Avenue and 2nd Street South and
conducted a felony traffic stop. 34-year-old Jeffrey Palmer was arrested on charges of possessing a firearm and an outstanding narcotics warrant from California. Palmer’s friend, 34-year-old Chrisanna Gustafson, was also arrested on charges of auto theft, credit card fraud and a felony warrant from California.
Bentrud adds this in an active investigation. Additional charges are possible. Palmer and Gustafson were in possession of stolen identity cards, bank cards and car key fobs from Minnesota and California. Officers recovered several handguns and a large amount of merchandise believed to be purchased from stolen credit cards. The stolen vehicle is from the city of St. Cloud.
