Archived: Two Local Parks Will Close Next Month For Hunting Opportunities For Disabled People

Two Stearns County parks will be closed for deer hunting opportunities for disabled people in Nov.

Spring Hill County Park and Rockville County Park and Nature Preserve will be closed to the public during two different time periods, according to Stearns County. During these days, Disabled American Veterans, other individuals and youth in Minnesota will participate in a special hunt hosted by Midwest Outdoors Unlimited.

Hunters were selected by the company through a random drawing after an application deadline. Midwest Outdoors Unlimited says volunteers will accompany hunters while shotguns are used.

The parks will close to the public Nov. 5-13 and again Nov. 26-30.
