Archived: Two St. Cloud Teens Arrested After Southside Burglary Saturday
Two teens were arrested after a burglary on the south side of St. Cloud Saturday.
Police Commander Jeff Oxton says officers were called to the 800 block of Eighth Street South shortly before 2 a.m. in connection to a burglary in progress. A 24-year-old woman reported she heard two voices in her home and saw a man enter her bedroom. She claims as soon as the man saw her he fled from her home. The witness noticed she was missing various items including a laptop and purse.
As officers pulled up to the victim’s house they saw two suspicious looking men standing in a nearby yard with backpacks. When police approached the men both of them fled. One stole a bicycle and the other ran on foot. Police used a taser to stop the man on the bike and were able to identify both suspects. Both men were from St. Cloud one is 17-years-old and the other is 15-years-old. The 17-year-old that fled on the bike was found with a loaded 9mm handgun in his pocket and had a felony warrant out for his arrest. The 15-year-old also had multiple warrants out for his arrest.
Both suspects were found with the items taken in the burglary and were taken to Stearns County Jail where they are being held on multiple charges. No one was injured during the burglary.
