The man accused of the first Waite Park homicide in nearly two decades has been charged in court.

The Stearns County Attorney’s Office says that 20-year-old Desmond Ormandy Barzey of St. Cloud is charged with unintentional murder in the second degree of 19-year-old Bobby Tercel Williams of St. Cloud. He is also facing charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

As of Monday afternoon, Barzey is being held in the Burleigh County Jail in Bismarck, North Dakota , awaiting extradition.

The charges stem from a shooting in a Waite Park apartment building on Saturday, December 9. Investigators say Williams died after witnesses brought him to the St. Cloud Hospital after being shot.
