Archived: UPDATE: Victim Identified Freeport House Fire, Others Suffer Smoke Inhalation
Authorities have identified the victim of a house fire in Freeport. 50-year-old Cecilia Chevalier-Larson died in the house fire early Tuesday morning.
Two other people were in the house when the fire broke out. 28-year-old Dawn Belgarde and 36-year-old Dusty Littledog were treated for smoke inhalation.
Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner says deputies and firefighters from the Freeport Fire Department responded to a home fire at 203 first Avenue South at 3:30 a.m. The home was engulfed in flames when emergency personnel arrived at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. The Chevalier-Larson’s body was taken to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
Albany and Melrose Fire Departments assisted the Sheriff’s Office and Freeport Fire Department at the scene.
