UPDATE: KVSC received the following message from event organizers relating to Ilyasah Shabazz’s presentation Friday, January 27:

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Ilyasah Shabazz, who was scheduled tonight as a keynote speaker for the Power in Diversity Conference in Ritsche Auditorium has been cancelled.  We apologize for any inconvenience.

Ilyasah Shabazz, daughter of Malcom X, will be one of five keynote speakers at St. Cloud State University’s Power in Diversity Leadership Conference. She will be speaking about social and emotional leadership tools.

Shabazz will be joined by Minneapolis Poet, Writer and Educator Sun Yang Shin, Leadership Consultant and Author Darryl Bellamy, Nausheena Hussain, a community activist and founder of Reviving the Islamic Sisterhood for Empowerment, and, finally, Jill Magelssen who is the owner of the St. Cloud location of Express Employment Professionals.
