Archived: Waite Park Officers Arrest A Man for Felony DUI After Running a Stop Sign Saturday

One man is in Stearns County Jail for a felony DUI after failing a field sobriety test Saturday in Waite Park.

The Waite Park Police Department says an officer saw a car speeding on 2nd Ave. S. and run the stop sign at 7th St. S. The car was pulled over and the driver, 30-year-old Eric Speck of Oakdale, was asked to get out of the car after the officer smelled alcohol and marijuana.

Speck failed the field sobriety test and was arrested for a felony DUI. This was his fifth DUI in the last ten years.

The Waite Park K9 unit recovered marijuana from the car and Speck was brought to Stearns County Jail waiting a court appearance.
