Polls are open until 8 p.m. today on the referendum to build a new Tech High School and renovate Apollo High School in School District 742.

Only 13 polling locations are open to cast your vote, a cost saving measure the district says will save taxpayers $85,000. Click here to find your polling place.

There is only one question on the ballot, asking voters if St. Cloud Area Public Schools be authorized to issue building bonds for the $167 million project. If voters approve the referendum, the money would be used to buy land to construct a new school, remodel, repair and renovate Apollo high school. The dollars would also be used to improve security and safety, technology and related infrastructure at various sites within the district as well.

As of 8:45 a.m. Tuesday morning 180 ballots had been cast at the St. Augusta City Hall, a polling place for residents in the western part of the district.

The ballots will be hand counted, and only contain the single question.
